The package was nicely organized. It included the drone, two spare batteries, a charging hub, and a shoulder bag. Everything fits neatly into the bag, making it super convenient for on-the-go shooting.

The RC2 remote controller is a highlight. It features a 5.5-inch 1080p screen with 700 nits of brightness, so it’s easy to see in bright daylight. There are three speed modes: C (slow), N (normal), and S (sport). I avoided the sport mode because it disables the obstacle sensors, not ideal for beginners like me.

The drone itself is compact and foldable. It’s easy to carry and fits right into my bag. The unique folding design even allows the propellers to overlap like a little fan. Plus, the built-in propeller guards mean you don’t have to worry about damaging it in your bag.

Beginner-Friendly Features of DJI Flip Drone

I was worried it would be hard to use, but DJI made it beginner-friendly. The app includes 22 beginner lessons, and after going through them, I felt confident flying it.

The drone has 2GB of internal storage, but I recommend getting an SD card for more space. I initially used a 64GB A1 card, but the app suggested upgrading to A2 for better performance. I ended up buying two 256GB cards, one for the drone and one for the remote. A single 256GB card can store about seven hours of 4K footage at 30fps.

Smart and Convenient Features

The DJI Flip offers features like palm takeoff, voice control (“Hey Fly!”), and Wi-Fi connectivity for quick controls via the DJI Fly app. Its advanced sensors ensure full obstacle avoidance, and even if you push the joystick, it won’t fly into obstacles. So, can it be one of the best camera drones? Only the result can tell.

One cool feature is its wind resistance. It can handle winds up to level five and still fly stably outdoors, though my area has a height limit of 120m. The automatic return-to-home function is also a lifesaver if the signal drops, which happened to me once.

The Flip has a 1/1.3-inch sensor, supports 48MP photos, and offers a bright f/1.7 aperture. Its 4K/60fps HDR video recording captures impressive details and colors, and the 4K/100fps slow motion is a nice bonus. There’s even a 2.7K vertical mode, though it crops the image slightly.

Battery Life

Battery life is solid. Each battery lasts about 31 minutes, depending on conditions like wind. With three batteries and the charging hub, I never felt limited. A full charge takes about 70 minutes with a 65W charger.
